Dunny toys come in three basic size: 3 inches, 8 inches, and 20 inches.

Looking to collect Dunnys? Who isn’t? Dunnys are hot!

Almost all 3 inch Dunnys, and many 8 inch varieties, come sealed in boxes so you do not know which one you are buying until you open the box. Think of it like sports card collecting. It isn’t until you open the tin foil wrap that you know exactly which one you have.

That, of course, can result in buying duplicate Dunnys. Fortunately, there is a big marketplace to buy the Dunny toys you need for your collection. You’ll find links throughout this site.

Starting with Dunny Series 5, each Dunny is wrapped in a clear plastic bag, which is inside the foil wrapper, which is inside the box. What this means is that you can buy a Dunny from someone who has opened their box and foil to find out what the purchased – and the Dunny is still new because it is in a plastic bag.

Obvious collecting hint: Dunnys in plastic bags are more valuable that Dunnys that have been played with by Fido.

Where does the name Dunny come from?

According to KidRobot, maker of Dunny toys, the word ‘Dunny’ is street slang for Devil Bunny. The original Dunny was a big satan bunny with a sickle and a skull face. They shortened the Devil Bunny name to Dunny, and the rest, as they say, is history.
